Abbey House Museum

Once the great gatehouse of Kirkstall Abbey, whose substantial ruin is across the road. Abbey House was a private home for 4 centuries. The Norman hall is still intact and now welcomes visitors to explore the life and skills of the people of Leeds at work and play. See Castellow's the chemist, Sagar's the ironmongers and the pipemakers in the streets of Georgian and Victorian Leeds all recreated. There are treasures in the toy gallery such as the Victorian dolls' house and new pennies can be changed to old to play the slot machines.
