An opportunity for Leeds schools to go up to York University and strut their stuff on the environment:

The Earthwatch York Student Debate on Local Biodiversity.
Friday 16th March 2007, 1.00pm-3.00pm, in the Chemistry Lecture Theatre, the University of York.

Building on the success of last Year’s debate, Earthwatch and the Environment Department at the University of York are again inviting Yorkshire schools to participate in a debate on local biodiversity, by sending a student/students along to make their case for restoring a chosen habitat in their immediate locality. The winners will receive an Earthwatch Community Action grant of up to £500 which can be used to kick-start an environmental project for their school.

This event will form part of the March 2007 York Festival of Science and Technology.

Free entrance to all, but by ticket only.
